ACSC Competition Rules and Code of Conduct

Adherence to these guidelines is mandatory for all competitors, coaches, and staff to ensure a fair, professional, and ethical environment throughout the Sales Role Play and Team Presentation events. By participating, you agree to uphold the standards set forth in this Code of Conduct and Competition Rules.

Sales Role Play Competition

  • Confidentiality:

    • All information gathered during the role-play is strictly confidential and must not be shared with other competitors.

  • Scheduling:

    • Competitors from the same school will compete in the same or consecutive time slots.

  • Rounds:

    • Round 2: Students will encounter a different buyer and set of judges.

    • Final Round: Students may encounter a previous individual (in a new role) as the buyer. Some judges may also be returning.

  • Timing:

    • The role-play has a 12-minute maximum time limit. Time begins when the door opens. The buyer may request a shorter time limit.

    • Competitors will be judged based only on the content delivered within the designated time limit.

    • Punctuality: Competitors must arrive in the waiting area 15 minutes prior to their scheduled time or face disqualification from all rounds.

    • Visual Aids: Be prepared; no extra time is allowed for visual aid setup.

    • Final Round Preparation: The top 5 competitors receive their prompt 30 minutes prior and will prepare with their coach in a private room.

  • Waiting Area:

    • No coaches or faculty are allowed.

    • Use of cell phones or communication devices is prohibited.

  • Post-Competition Discussion: Do not discuss the buyer or scenario after competing. This is to ensure fairness and prevent misleading other competitors.

 

Team Presentation Competition

  • Punctuality:

    • Teams must be on time or will be disqualified from all rounds.

  • Timing:

    • Round 1: 15-minute maximum presentation + 5 minutes for Q&A (hard stop at 15 minutes).

    • Final Round: 10-minute maximum presentation + 5 minutes for Q&A (hard stop at 10 minutes).

    • Time begins when directed by the room monitor.

  • Final Round Preparation:

    • The top 3 teams receive their prompt 30 minutes prior for follow-up preparation with their coach in a private room.

  • Waiting Area:

    • All competitors must be in the waiting area 15 minutes prior.

    • No coaches or faculty are allowed.

    • Use of cell phones or communication devices is prohibited.

  • Post-Competition Discussion:

    • Do not discuss the Q&A session.

 

ACSC Code of Conduct

The ACSC Code of Conduct sets the standard for professionalism, integrity, and fairness for all participants (competitors, coaches, judges, and staff).

  • Professionalism:

    • Maintain professional conduct at all times with judges, competitors, sponsors, and staff.

    • Professional and appropriate attire is required.

    • Be respectful in all communications.

  • Integrity & Fair Play:

    • Compete honestly and ethically; cheating or dishonest behavior is prohibited.

    • Coaches must not provide real-time assistance or be in the competitor waiting area.

    • Inappropriate influence over judges is strictly prohibited.

    • All student competitors will be judged equally and fairly.

  • Confidentiality:

    • Respect the confidentiality of all competition materials, including final-round scenarios and scoring.

  • Respect & Inclusion:

    • Maintain a respectful and inclusive environment.

  • Compliance & Consequences:

    • Participants must strictly adhere to all rules, including time limits and arrival times.

    • Any disputes or rule violations must be reported promptly to ACSC staff.

    • The decisions of judges and ACSC staff are final.

    • Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in immediate disqualification.

 

By participating in this competition, all agree to abide by the ACSC Code of Conduct.
